Free online courses from Coursera
Registration is over!
Coursera is offering the free opportunity to countries impacted by the COVID-19 crisis as a part of their Workforce Recovery Initiative. From Estonia, the collaborators in the Project are the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, the Ministry of Social Affairs (’’ministries’’ henceforth) and the Estonian Unemployment Insurance Fund. First, access was offered to most affected groups and now all Estonians are invited to join the initiative.
How to get access to the free courses?
- Ensure you have sufficient English or Russian skills to follow the courses.
- Register until the 28th of October or until there are available places on the Coursera platform. You have to start a course withing 2 weeks of your enrolment on Coursera. The offer is valid until the end of 2020, you have to finish your courses before then to get the free certificate.
- You can register only using the link ’’Register here“ as the opportunity is offered via the ministry, not to individuals separately. After completing the registration form you will receive an invitation link from Coursera to your registered e-mail address within 2 working days. The e-mail contains the link you have to use to access the free platform and from there on you can create your account or link an existing one. Please make sure you are using the free account by clicking on the “coursera” logo in the upper left corner of your browser, everything is correct if it displays a homepage with the Ministry of Social Affairs logo. Your selected courses are included in the free programme if there is a text under the “enrol” button saying ““Sponsored by the Estonian Ministry of Social Affairs”. There is no need to start a free trial or enter your payment information.
- By registering you consent to having your name and email forwarded to Coursera to create your personal link for accessing the content and to send you reminders. Additionally, you consent to the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Research having access to the anonymised information you provide to make summary statistics about the programme until April 2021.
